A picture can say a lot about a person, especially if the photographer focuses on the subject's eyes.
To photograph the eyes, you must use the right equipment and have a person capable of expressing emotions during the shooting session.
Here are some practical tips to start shooting a glance:
- Explain why you want your subject to take pictures of her eyes, explaining the artistic value of photography and 'emotional impact that will produce.
- Wrap a scarf or handkerchief around the head of your model (or models) and leave only the eyes uncovered. Alternatively you dress the subject in a sober way so that the eye has to emerge and not disturbing elements (such as bright colors and unusual shapes of the clothes).
- Pay particular attention to the available light. Try to focus on the reflections of light inside the eye and why it can create. If you shoot outside instead, pay attention to the strong light which could force the subject to squint.
- Although you can avoid using the flash in order to avoid the dreaded "red eye syndrome." (See also " how to avoid the phenomenon of red eyes in photographs ").
- Begin a conversation with your subject, talk about things that stimulate emotional reactions whether of happiness or sadness. In both cases you will help to create different shapes of eyes and will produce shots enormously communicative.
- Get up close and fill the frame with only the eyes.
Ok now you have made photographs of eyes more or less professional. But what if you are not satisfied and want to improve the result. Here is a video that explains how to improve the look in post production using photo editing software like Photoshop. The video is in English, but it is not difficult to understand the various steps.

I'm glad the site has begun to be updated
