Create a "Panning" without moving the camera
The " pan
"Is a photographic technique that allows you to shoot moving subjects while maintaining the impression of dynamism of the image: the subject appears sharp while the background is moving and you are unable to perceive a well-defined direction of movement.
It 'a technique theoretically very simple, but its completion requires lots of practice.
The technique can be applied if the movement of the subject is more or less perpendicular to the orientation of the camera and run, with a shutter speed relatively low (between 1/80 and 1/40 of a second), following with the camera the subject in motion. Generally, for a successful image, you begin to follow the movement of the subject before pressing the shutter button and turn the body with bolt on legs or pelvis.
The main problems of implementation of the technique are:
- choose the right time to shoot is not easy
- you must avoid any camera movement in order not to blur vertically direzioine subject
- it is necessary that the movement of the frame as much as possible "solidarity" with the movement of the subject.
It is to solve these problems that some photographers have launched several ideas to get the panning without moving the camera. Here are some examples:
EXAMPLE 1: THE CAROUSEL
In this case we can take advantage of the central pin of the tournament: keeping the camera steady on the pin, it will run with the carousel and the game is done.

EXAMPLE 2: THE SCALE MOBILE
Bearing in mind that those who are on a sliding scale is usually stationary, but the escalator does all the movement, we have two possibilities:
- we can place on the escalator in front of or behind your subject and let the escalator do the rest;
- we can place on a sliding scale that next follows the same direction and has the same speed.

EXAMPLE 3: THE INSIDE OF A CAR IN MOTION
As in the case of the carousel, the trick is to place the camera in a location that does not move with respect to the camera, like the dashboard, but a more attractive option is offered by the rearview mirror or can be used for portraits.

EXAMPLE 4: THE BICYCLE
If we want to take a bicycle in motion we have three possibilities: we can fix the camera on another bike to follow the first, apply the camera directly to our subject, or even on bicycle-rider.

EXAMPLE 5: SWING
The camera must be positioned on the seat opposite to that of our subject.

EXAMPLE 6: DO TURN YOUR CHILD!

You can photograph your child while, holding his arms, lifting it off the ground you spin: You can do this by holding the camera firmly attached to your body, to the child.
